The Flinders Laptop program continues to evolve to ensure that every student has access to a reliable, school-approved device that is fully integrated to optimise their learning experience.
Depending on the student year of commencement, students will participate in one of two laptop programs. Please read the appropriate section below relevant for your child.
Joshua Centre will continue to align with the Tyabb campus for their secondary student Laptop and BYOD programs. All information below equally applies for the Joshua Centre students.
From 2026, all families of Year 7 students are required to purchase a specific Windows-based laptop model from our dedicated school purchasing portal. This laptop will include access to all our school systems and the software your child needs to ensure a smooth transition into school life.
NOTE: Year 7’s will retain this device through years 8 and 9.

Lenovo 13w Gen 3, a durable, commercial-grade 2-in-1 laptop. Device specifications are listed in the program information sheet linked above.
Flinders has engaged Edunet to partner with the college to supply, manage, and support student devices specified for this program. This includes an automated process to install software, security tools, and management features. Edunet is authorised to support the Lenovo Education Warranty for warranty claims and onsite accidental damage repairs, working with the Flinders IT Department in minimising downtime for students.
Software licensing: Microsoft 365 and Adobe Creative Cloud licences are provided for all Flinders students.
Cyber-security: A range of cyber-security measures are used at Flinders to detect and defend against viruses, malware, and intrusion attempts.
Families own the laptop outright. It is expected that students will retain the laptop for their education for Year 7 through Year 9.
Deliveries for all Year 7 laptops are scheduled for the first week in December 2025. This is to ensure the upgraded 3-year Lenovo warranty remains active for your student until the end of year 9 in December 2028.
- Pre-Christmas Delivery (early December): Order by Thursday, November 27, 2025
- Day 1 Term 1 Delivery (mid/late January): Order by Monday, January 5, 2026
Note: Cut-off dates only apply to devices listed as in stock. If a device is out of stock, we cannot guarantee Christmas or Day 1 delivery. Check the portal for estimated arrival (ETA) dates.
- Credit card payments: A 1.5% surcharge applies (passed on from the bank)
- Direct deposit: No fee
- ZipMoney: $25 one-off account establishment fee (new accounts only) and $9.95 monthly account fee while a balance remains. Minimum repayment is $10/week or 3% of the outstanding balance (whichever is greater).
Yes. However, your order will not be processed until full payment has been received. Please include your order confirmation number in the payment description so we can match the payment to your order.
Check the ETA (estimated time of arrival) listed on the portal. ETAs are estimates and subject to change due to manufacturing delays. Out-of-stock devices cannot be guaranteed for Christmas or Day 1 Term 1 delivery.
First, take the device to the Flinders IT Department. They can often fix software-related issues immediately. If they cannot resolve the issue, they will lodge a service request with Edunet, who will arrange onsite repairs at school or at your home (during school holidays).

For Year 8-12 students in 2026, Flinders maintains a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) program. Families are asked to equip their children with an appropriate laptop computer. The BYOD Device Guidelines document available below, outlines specifications to guide you in selecting an appropriate laptop.
Flinders has engaged Edunet to provide a service where suitable devices may be purchased online. All laptops listed on the site have been pre-selected and approved by Flinders staff as suitable for the BYOD program. Purchasing from Edunet is strongly recommended but not compulsory for 2026 students in Years 8 to 12.
