If your child is being collected early from school please prearrange this either:

1. Notify the School using the Flinders Connect App
   Select the 'Absence' tab
   Select the student
   Duration of Absence - select 'Other'
   Under 'Please specify' - type what time your child will be collected from school
2. Notify the College by calling 9785 0000
3. Email CD.Reception@flinders.vic.edu.au and clearly state what date and time your child will need to sign out.

Primary Student: Must be collected from the Primary Office

Secondary Student: must sign out at the Secondary Reception in Ten Boom House / E Block

Dear Primary parents,

It was lovely to meet incoming Prep parents at our information night this week. As the year draws to a close, we look forward to our 2024 Prep Nativity play, Grade 6 graduation and the Celebration Afternoon. Please keep an eye on the Flinders Connect App (enabling notifications and syncing the calendar helps) to ensure no important events are missed.

Frozen Production

On Thursday 21 November , all Prep – Grade 6 Students are performing in Frozen! The performance starts at 5.30pm in the College Gym. To make things simpler for families on the day, Primary staff will supervise students after school from 3.15 until the end of the show at approximately 6.30pm.

If you have not bought tickets or refreshments please do so.

Doors will open at 5 PM, with the show starting at 5:30 PM. Ticket prices range from $10 to $15, and refreshments will be available for $1 to $5. You can purchase tickets through this Try Booking link: https://www.trybooking.com/CVIAL.

It should be a fun night together! The afternoon for students will look like this:

The Prep Nativity will take place in the school gymnasium on Wednesday, 27 November, starting at 1:00 pm.

Parents and friends are warmly invited to attend and enjoy this special performance, which our Prep students have been working hard to prepare.

We look forward to running our P – 2 Athletics on Monday 25 November, beginning at 9 am.

Students will rotate through sprints, relays, long jump, and other novelty events.

Parents are welcome to attend and cheer on their children.

The event will conclude by recess time, around 10.45 am

We are excited to announce our Grade 6 Justice Markets for 2024! Our Grade 6 students have been working on creating stalls to sell items/activities/food to fellow students with the aim to donate all proceeds to Gateway Children’s Fund that assists children in a school in Papua New Guinea.

All students in Grades 2-6 are invited to participate, and join in the fun.

When: Tuesday 19 November recess and lunchtime

Where: Outside the Grade 6 rooms and around the soccer pitch

How much:
Children can bring some money (preferably coins) if they would like to purchase items. They might like to bring around $5 to $10; even a little more for older students (up to $20). (We highly recommend students bring coins for this event and refrain from bringing large notes.)

Please note the food items will have ingredients listed, and may not be gluten free/vegan etc, so children with allergies may wish to participate in the other activities on offer such as guessing the lollies in the jar and basketball shooting.

On the 1 December, four of our cross campus Flinders basketball teams will be departing for the Gold Coast to compete at the 2024 Australian Schools Basketball Championships. This is an incredible achievement and a wonderful way to showcase our incredible basketball talent on the National stage.

The teams are currently fundraising to help offset some of the costs of this tour and have set up a virtual raffle / silent auction with an incredible number of prizes to be won.

This week was a successful one for Flinders in SIS sports, showcasing impressive performances across multiple basketball teams. The Junior Girls Flyers team secured a solid victory with a 40-27 win, demonstrating skill and teamwork on the court. Meanwhile, the Intermediate Girls Basketball team dominated their game, achieving a convincing 84-20 win. The Intermediate Boys Basketball team also put on a thrilling display, clinching a close-fought victory with a 65-59 scoreline. Congratulations to all the teams for their hard work, dedication, and outstanding results this week!
