This is an important Ballarto Road Upgrade update.
You have been identified to be a key stakeholder, located close to the project area and we wanted to provide you with an important update on upcoming traffic changes in the area.
To safely relocate road barriers at the Ballarto Road and Potts Road intersection, we will be working at night during a road closure on Ballarto Road.
Works will take place from 7pm Thursday 7 November until 5am Friday 8 November, please see below information:
As part of the Ballarto Road Upgrade, we are currently working along two sections including Ballarto Road from Boggy Creek to Flora Park Way and at the Potts Road intersection. This project is expected to be completed by mid-2025. We wanted to inform you of upcoming traffic changes in the area.
Ballarto Road and Potts Road intersection
From late October to December 2024, you can expect:
Ballarto Road closed at the Potts Road intersection for one night in late October between 7pm to 5am to relocate traffic management barriers. Detour via Frankston-Dandenong Road, Hall Road and Western Port Highway.
After these night works, Ballarto Road will reopen to one lane in each direction with reduced speed limits.
Potts Road remains closed at the Ballarto Road intersection until late December 2024. Detour via Valley Road and McClelland Drive or Cranbourne-Frankston Road and Western Port Highway.
Ballarto Road from Boggy Creek to Greenwood Drive
From mid-November to December 2024, you can expect:
Ballarto Road closed between Lyrebird Drive and Greenwood Drive for one night in mid-November between 7pm and 5am to relocate traffic management barriers. Detour via Frankston-Dandenong Road, Hall Road and Western Port Highway.
On weekdays between 6.30am and 6.30pm, the eastbound lane on Ballarto Road remains closed between Lyrebird Drive and Greenwood Drive. The westbound lane on Ballarto Road remains open under changed traffic conditions.
On weeknights, weekends and public holidays, temporary traffic lights will be operating to allow local traffic to take turns travelling on both directions.
Access to the Pines Flora and Fauna Reserve carpark will be closed for up to 2 weeks from mid-November.
Temporary bus stop closures between Boggy Creek and Greenwood Drive. Visit the Public Transport Victoria website (ptv.vic.gov.au) to stay updated with the latest disruption information.
Please see map attached.
What’s next ?
Eastbound lane traffic disruptions on Ballarto Road between Lyrebird Drive and Flora Park Way will continue until mid-2025. We will keep the community updated as works progress.
Visit the Ballarto Road Upgrade webpage to stay up to date with the latest information.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
Kind regards,
Ballarto Road Upgrade project team
As we approach the midpoint of Term 4 we are looking forward to our big end of year events, including the Frozen Production, Prep Nativity, Graduation, UP day and Celebration Afternoon!
Summer & sunscreen I stumbled across this Yuka app which scans food and cosmetic barcodes. I have found it useful choosing a sunscreen in an attempt to avoid what some consider to be hazardous ingredients.
For children with sensitive skin, you may find the app useful, especially the recommendations that it makes.
2025 Our Primary school is completely full. If you know families that would like to join our community in 2026 or beyond, please encourage them to visit the College website HERE or email our Enrolments Team. A waitlist is in place for 2025, and the enrolment team updates this if change occurs.

Congratulations to Saige from Grade 5 for taking first place in last week’s Regional Athletics Carnival shot put event with an impressive throw of 9.52m!
Saige will now advance to compete in the State competition.
Congratulations to Lily and Maryam in Prep for receiving a Flinders values award during this week’s Primary Chapel Service.
Lily received her award for displaying Love and Grace by showing kindness and patience towards her classmates, and always showing respect to others when following the ‘Golden Rule’.
Maryam exemplified the values of Grace and Humility by Consistently uplifting others, treating them with kindness, respect and empathy. Her humble nature in the classroom is a great example to her peers.
This term, we have the wonderful opportunity to partner with an incredible organisation - The Red Nose. Their mission is to be there for and help Australian families. They help save little lives through research and education, and support families affected by the death of a baby or child.
Every dollar their charity raises helps to fund research, support families and save little lives.
It's a great chance for our families to have a ‘Spring clean’ at home and donate to a fantastic charity that assists children.
From Monday 21 October (Week 3) until Friday 8 November (Week 5), Flinders (Primary) will be collecting pre-loved clothing donations for The Red Nose.
Grade 6 students will collect the bags each day from classes to store until the bags are collected by Red Nose.
Each student who brings in a full bag of clothing will be given 100 points for their House.
If you require extra bags, please ask at the Primary office.
Please note - clothing must be clean and in good condition.
Thank you for supporting this term's mission event.
Secondary Booklists are now available on the college website HERE

Please place your order before Wednesday 11 December 2024 for school delivery early in 2025.

Our Swim Squad Program runs annually in Terms 1 and 4 coached by elite swimmers. The program runs on Friday mornings before school at the Pines Forest Aquatic Centre. The purpose of the Flinders Swim Squad is to improve each student's competitive swimming performance at the Term 1 House Swimming Carnival in 2024 and to adequately prepare students for racing. Please note that this optional opportunity is not a learn to swim program, as students are expected to be able to swim competently for multiple laps of a 50m pool. The sessions will focus on preparing students for future competitions. There is a small cost of $70 for the sessions that is subsidised by the College.
