We are very blessed to offer our Summer Sport Aerobics Holiday Workshops! Sessions will go through the fundamentals of Sport Aerobics, working on choreography, fitness and skills.
Sport Aerobics combines elements of traditional aerobics with dance and fitness. High intensity routines are performed to energetic music, that include a variety of skills and movement patterns.
It is a great way to provide students from primary the opportunity to engage in a ‘non traditional’ sport.
No prior experience is needed to attend these sessions! Just a group of friends and wiliness to learn and a have fun doing a new sport!

Thank you so much for your support and partnership with our Primary school this year. I pray you have a wonderful Christmas break. Isaiah 9:6-7 says,
‘For to us a child is born, to us a son is given… And he will be called Wonderful Counsellor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.’
I look forward to all that 2025 brings. We start together on Thursday 30 January (all of Prep to Grade 6).
Summer is a great time to enjoy the freedom that comes with no school uniform and summer hairstyles! Please remember that upon the start of the 2025 school year, we all need to abide by the College uniform policy.
This policy states: Students must seek an opinion from the relevant Head of Sub-School before contemplating receiving a styling that could be interpreted as ‘extreme’ or ‘non-conformist’. Examples of such styles are closely shaven hair (less than a four comb) either completely or on one side of the head, and heavily and closely undercut hair, rat tails, mullets, mohawks and dreadlocks.
Please return school readers: Please thoroughly check bookshelves, under beds and in all places where readers may end up throughout the year! To help prevent any ‘summer slump’, I encourage parents to have their children continue to read daily from books of their choice. Times tables practice for middle and upper primary students is also a good idea!

As we draw the curtain on another remarkable year at Flinders Christian Community College, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for all that we have achieved together as a community. This year has been a testament to the resilience, dedication, and collective spirit that defines our Secondary School.
Firstly, I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to our Year 12 students. Their unwavering commitment, hard work, and determination throughout this pivotal year have been nothing short of inspiring. As they prepare to embark on the next chapter of their lives, whether in further education, the workforce, or other pursuits, I am confident that they are well-equipped to shine brightly in the world beyond Flinders. We are so proud of you all.
This year, we have seen outstanding efforts across the entire Secondary School in exams and assessments. The results reflect not just academic excellence but also the resilience and adaptability of our students and staff. These achievements are a collective victory—a reflection of the vibrant teaching, the supportive learning environment, and the determination of our students to excel.
It is also heartening to see the growing recognition of our school as a place of excellence. The increasing number of students applying to join the Flinders family is a testament to the incredible community we have built. Our commitment to nurturing each student’s unique gifts and fostering a Christ-centred environment continues to make Flinders a beacon of hope and opportunity.
To our staff, I want to express my deepest appreciation. Your tireless efforts, creativity, and unwavering dedication to our students have been instrumental in making this year a success. You are the backbone of our school, and your impact reaches far beyond the classroom. Thank you for the care and passion you bring to your roles every day.
Finally, I want to share how incredibly blessed I feel to lead and serve this extraordinary community. It is an honour to walk alongside such exceptional students, supportive families, and inspiring colleagues. Together, we have created a school where students not only learn but also grow, thrive, and feel connected.
As we head into the holiday season, I wish you all a joyful and restful break. May this time be filled with peace, laughter, and the presence of loved ones. I look forward to welcoming you back in the new year, ready for another chapter of growth and achievement.
With gratitude and blessings,
Matthew Bodley

Congratulations to Emma F and Jamieson E (Year 11) who received an Australian Olympic Changemaker Award! This award celebrates secondary students from around the country who embody the Olympic spirit both on and off the field. Through sport, these inspiring individuals lead with excellence and drive meaningful change in their schools and local communities.
Emma Forde:
Emma exemplifies dedication and excellence in sport, competing at a state level in swimming while also representing the College in netball. Despite her demanding training schedule, she generously gives back to her community by teaching swimming lessons at a local pool, inspiring others with her passion. This year, Emma’s outstanding contributions were further recognised when she was selected by her representative swimming club to participate in ‘Beyond the Pool’, a leadership development program run by Swimming Victoria. Her commitment to sports, leadership, and service, paired with her unwavering positivity, make her a truly deserving recipient of the Australian Olympic Change-Maker Award. Congratulations, Emma!
Jamieson E:
Jamieson demonstrates excellence in sport, proudly representing the College in both basketball and netball. A natural leader and role model, he volunteers his time to coach a Primary aged basketball team, mentoring younger students and providing a supportive and inclusive environment. Jamieson was one of just 24 students selected by the Australian Olympic committee to attend the Olympic Change-Maker Summit, which was held in Canberra last week. Here students from around the country spent 3 days working alongside Australian Olympians to provide a vital youth perspective to the Australian Olympic Committee. Congratulations on this outstanding achievement, Jamieson!
This week, 20 participants, including year 7-11 students from both Carrum Downs and Tyabb campuses and 3 parents, rode 300km from Wodonga to Mansfield as part of The Great Victorian Bike Ride (GVBR). The students rode 113km on the final day, the longest in GVBR history as the event celebrated its 40th year.
The students showed enormous resilience as they rode together as a team throughout hot and rainy conditions. One third of the participants were returning students of this great adventure who supported the younger students with drafting and camping. In additional to enjoying some great downhills, students enjoyed a game of ten pin bowling, banter over a game of Uno and having a kick of the footy or playing some cricket.
The following students should be very proud of their achievements this week as they accepted the opportunity to collect evidence that their body and mind is capable of overcoming challenges whilst also having fun. For any families interested in this event in 2025, please contact Mrs. Shay Cosgrave (Shay.cosgrave@flinders.vic.edu.au)
Congratulations to Harsamar for qualifying for the 2024 Chemist Warehouse Australian All Schools Athletics Championships! Representing Flinders in the triple jump, Harsamar will compete on the national stage from 6 December to 8 at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre (QSAC) in Brisbane. This is a remarkable achievement, and we’re so proud of his dedication and hard work.
Congratulations to the Flinders Carrum Downs students who have been selected to represent Flinders at the Australian Schools Basketball Championships on the Gold Coast next week.
These students have been training, fundraising and preparing for this event for around 6 months now which has required a lot of additional time and effort.
The Australian Schools Championships are the pinnacle of school basketball competitions in Australia and to be represented on this National stage is an incredible achievement.
We would like to acknowledge and thank the many families & businesses within our community who donated goods, vouchers, supplies and purchased tickets to our virtual raffle as well supported the many BBQs we ran at Frankston Basketball stadium, Bunnings Frankston and the Flinders PnF pop up.
We are extremely grateful to all the support which has helped to offset some of the costs of the tour as well as provide some additional items for our players whilst away.
